Theme: Learn. Do. Share

This year, we are using a new model of learning. Learn. Do. Share is a global program prototype developed and running at Columbia University. We’ll use it to become more impassioned about projects and policies being championed by AAUW, take action together during Convention, and share ideas for building collaborations with like-minded organizations in our home communities. There will be time, too, for learning how to use AAUW resources to make Branch life easier, such as submitting dues online.

Friday’s Events begin at 2 p.m. and include:

  • EarthWorks World Heritage Site Presentation
  • Past President Recognition
  • Dinner: Festive Attire Welcomed
  • National Updates from Shannon Wolfe, Managing Director & Chief Of Staff at AAUW.
  • Awards
  • Cocktails & Convos

Saturday’s Events end at 4:30 p.m. and include:

  • Breakout Sessions
  • Finance & Dues Workshop
  • Policy Book Workshop
  • Lunch
  • AAUW Ohio Annual Meeting

Both Days:

BONUS Sunday Event:

Presenters include AAUW Chief of Staff

Sharing updates from national AAUW and networking with members will be Shannon Wolfe, AAUW managing director and chief of staff, formerly of the Brookings Institution.

Dr. Angela Clark- Taylor, director of the Women’s Center at BGSU, will be a keynote speaker. She has a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Rochester and a graduate certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies.

Angela Clark-Taylor, Women’s Center Director, BGSU

Dr. Brenda Phillips, Associate Dean of Ohio University Chillicothe where she oversees the Emergency Response Training Center, will also speak.

Breakout sessions: finance to policy

Some our very own members will share their AAUW expertise. Renee Spiker, VP of finance, will present a workshop for those struggling with the required finance paperwork. Rush Rodgers will review the AAUW research report Deeper in Debt on student loan debt and the fact that women are adversely impacted, while giving the pros and cons of different types of loans. Nancy Stellhorn will  present a policy book workshop that includes a whole new attitude on the topic.
