Sunday, April 18: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Worthington Holiday Inn, 7007 High St., Worthington, Ohio, located off I-270 and I-71. Get directions. Make your reservation before April 4 to receive the AAUW Ohio guaranteed rate of $89 per night. See details below.

Cost: $60 per day for convention programming, meals and break refreshments, which does not include Optional Awards Banquet explained below.

Optional Awards Banquet: Saturday, April 17, from 7 to 9 p.m., for an additional charge of $30. See the registration form for entree options. AAUW President Carolyn H. Garfein will be the keynote speaker at this event.

Overnight Accommodations: Rooms at the Worthington Holiday Inn are available for $89 a night, plus tax. • Ohio Senator Theresa Fedor (D-Toledo), will give a keynote speech on “Women in Elected Office.”
• Andrea Cambern, investigative reporter and news anchor at the CBS affiliate in Columbus, will speak on “Women and the Media.”
• Panelists Dr. Celia Williamson of the University of Toledo; Judy Hofmann of Fostoria; and Sr. Mary Kuhlman, SF of Tiffin on “Trafficking: It’s not about Drugs; It’s about Women and Girls in Ohio.”
• Rhonda Gail Davis, Esq., former chair of the Women’s Caucus at the American Association for Justice and AAUW Ohio Legal Advocacy Fund Liaison on “Life: We Can Always Use More Negotiating Skills.”
• Ann Klotz, director of the Laurel School’s Center for Research, on “Girls and the Implications for STEM: What Does It Take to Make It Work?”

Convention contests: Get recognition for your branch

• Convention Essay Contest: What do you believe about AAUW? Write it and win - Write a 350-word essay about your beliefs regarding AAUW and win money for your branch. Plus, the top four essays will be read at Convention. Submission deadline is April 2.
• AAUW Ohio Annual Newsletter Contest - Enter the best three issues of your branch newsletter and be recognized at Convention. Submission deadline is March 19.

Help publicize Convention

Publicize  the AAUW Ohio 86th Annual Convention while getting publicity for your branch. Here’s how:

1. Download a version of our Convention Media Release and send it to your local media. You can download it as a Word document or as a PDF. You can then edit the release by inserting the names of Convention attendees from your branch, along with your branch contact information. Send the release to your area media. Or you can distribute to media in your area without editing.
