- Half the Sky Live, March 4: AAUW members and branches around the country are planning to take part in Half the Sky Live. This event is a creative way for members to celebrate International Women’s Day together and stand in solidarity with women all over the world. During the event, which will be broadcast to nearly 500 theaters around the country, AAUW will be thanked for its efforts to rally our members and local communities to take part in the celebration! Central District Making Membership Meaningful Skillshop
Saturday, March 13
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
MCL Cafeteria Meeting Room, 60 Westerville Square, Westerville. View map.
The skillshop is designed primarily for branch presidents and membership vice presidents, but any interested branch officer and branch member is encouraged to attend.
Though the facilitators will present materials and helpful suggestions concerning membership, much of the skillshop’s benefit will be derived from questions and shared experiences (e.g. ‘what works, what doesn’t') originating with the participants themselves.

Momentum 2010: Ohio Women’s Summit
Who: All women in the state are invited. AAUW Ohio will fund four attendees from our state branches who are interested in attending the event. The four chosen will serve as panelists at our 2010 state convention.
If you are interested in attending for “free” and are willing to serve on a panel on April 17-18 at our 2010 AAUW Ohio State Convention to talk about the experience, please contact Diane Regan, AAUW Ohio President, at regan.diane@gmail.com. News Update: Sandusky Branch members Yvette Darden and Jane Morner were selected by AAUW Ohio to participate in Momentum 2010 and serve on a panel at the Convention.
What: A statewide summit that seeks to advance the status of Ohio women in the areas of economics, education and health. The day will present attendees with sessions on economics, education and health issues particularly as each affect women. It will also be a networking opportunity for those who attend.
When: Monday, March 8, 2010, which is International Women’s Day.
Where: Riffe Tower and Statehouse Atrium
Why: The purpose of the summit is to gather women of diverse backgrounds to learn, network, advance their careers and be inspired to create change for themselves, their families and whole communities. The year 2010 was picked for Ohio’s summit because it is the 100th anniversary of the first International Women’s Day,

2010 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders
25th Anniversary Conference
When: June 3-5, 2010
Where: University of Maryland, College Park
How: AAUW Ohio will support the conference by sending student leaders. AAUW Ohio will underwrite two students to attend this conference by providing $400 for each. Interested students may apply by downloading, completing and submitting the NCCWSL Scholarship Application.
Early-bird registration is available Feb. 15 through April 16 and costs the same as last year.
