AAUW launches Twitter campaign: Women and the Debates!
AAUW has created a Twitter campaign to get the presidential candidates to bring women back into the conversation at the next debate!
Read the AAUW blog post about the issue, which includes sample tweets and instructions of how to get involved. It’s easy!
The goal is for participants to send at least one tweet daily to the presidential candidates’ Twitter accounts: “10/16 is your chance, @MittRomney & @BarackObama: Talk to women! http://bit.ly/QRfnpp #Women1016 #fem2 #AAUW #Debates Plz RT!”
Then watch the next presidential debate on Tuesday, October 16, to see if it works!
The debate will be moderated by Candy Crowley, CNN’s Chief Political Correspondent and Anchor of CNN’s State of the Union. This will be the first presidential debate moderated by a woman in 20 years.
AAUW hopes that there will be more discussion of our priority issues, particularly equal pay, education, women’s health care, LGBT rights, and other domestic issues.
