AAUW President Carolyn H. Garfein will be the keynote speaker at the Saturday evening optional awards banquet. Garfein was elected to the two-year position last July.
Other speakers on the program include:
- Ohio Senator Theresa Fedor (D-Toledo), who will give the keynote speech on “Women in Elected Office.”
- Andrea Cambern, investigative reporter and news anchor at the CBS affiliate in Columbus, who will speak on “Women and the Media.”
- Panelists Dr. Celia Williamson of the University of Toledo; Judy Hofmann of Fostoria; and Sr. Mary Kuhlman, SF of Tiffin on “Ohio Trafficking: It’s not about Drugs; It’s about Women and Girls in Ohio.”
- Rhonda Gail Davis, Esq., former chair of the Women’s Caucus at the American Association for Justice and AAUW Ohio Legal Advocacy Fund Liaison on “Life: We Can Always Use More Negotiating Skills.”
- Ann Klotz, director of the Laurel School’s Center for Research, on “Girls and the Implications for STEM: What Does It Take to Make It Work?”
Cost of the convention is $60 per day. This includes meals and break refreshments.
The awards banquet, which will be held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., is available for an additional charge of $30. See the registration form for entree options.
Rooms at the Worthington Holiday Inn are available for $89 a night, plus tax. When making your reservation, ask for rooms reserved by AAUW Ohio. Reservations made before April 4 will guarantee this rate.
