What does AAUW mean to you?

brandLinkmissionWhat does AAUW mean to you? Members of AAUW Ohio’s Mansfield Branch answered that question at the branch’s Nov. 3 Tea Party, which celebrated the group’s 75th anniversary:

Marianne Sweat, a branch member, shared the following answer, which was printed in the group’s winter newsletter, “The Cider Press”:

A: An organization that inspires all women and girls to follow their dreams and try to make this a better world.

A: Always teaching how to lead by providing us with some of the best leaders.

U: Understanding and recognizing that all of us have special and unique gifts to share with others and with AAUW.

W: Women who have lead the way to promote positive, equitable social change in education, in the workplace and for families.

Members dressed in style for the event, and their attire included hats and gloves. Lois Ridgway and Kim Bursley organized the special tea party.

Other members who shared their thoughts about what AAUW means to them were Maxine Smith, Janet Irey, Margaret Battisti, Joan Albert, Darlene Mellick and Ginny Brandt.

Carol Loveless presented a program on the history of the branch. Sue Schamadan read “Thanks for the Memories,” a piece written by Evelyn Rohn for the branch’s golden anniversary in 1984.
