AAUW Ohio Branch Meetings
- Middletown Branch will meet Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at 100 Levey Hall, Miami University. Dr. Susan A. S. Hershberger, of the Center for Chemical Education, will speak on “Scientific Literacy: Quality Science Education.”
- Sandusky Branch will meet Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ohio Veterans Home-V.A. Museum, 3416 Columbus Ave. Speakers will be Fred Schwan and Bob Thurston, who will discuss “Trench Art.” The meeting is open to the public. For more information, call Ellen at 419-359-1633.
- Medina County Branch will meet Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Reserve Building, Lower Level Meeting Room, 3637 Medina Road, Medina, for a presentation by Betty Zak on “Women Who Made a Difference.” She is an educator and consultant and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. AAUW Ohio Branch Fundraisers
- Sandusky Branch will hold its Community Day Sale Saturday, Nov. 14, starting at 6 a.m. It is the branch’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Elder-Beerman coupon book are $5 each and contain excellent savings opportunities! See Annmarie Flood to purchase books for friends and co-workers and sign up to work the event. The branch receives a portion of each book it sells.
- Bowling Green Branch is also participating in Elder-Beerman’s Community Day sale on Nov. 14. Help the group raise local scholarship monies. Contact Adriene Knight for books or to volunteer to help staff the sales table on Nov. 14. Call 419-353-7243.
- Medina County Branch is sponsoring a presentation of “A Christmas Carol” by the Largely Literary Company on Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The event is a fundraiser for the group’s scholarship fund, which provides aid to nontraditional women college students. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children. - Middletown Branch will hold a Festive Fundraiser that includes dessert and holiday entertainment Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.
