Plan a program around The Shriver Report
AAUW has released specific policy recommendations to complement The Shriver Report — A Woman’s Nation Changes Everything and created a Program in a Box to bring the information home to local and state branches.
Resources and suggestions to achieve AAUW’s policy goals have been included in the Woman’s Nation Program in a Box.
Released Oct. 16, “The Shriver Report” covers the current state of women in our society. It is a project of the Center for American Progress, and AAUW has been eagerly anticipating the launch of this study.
The report is receiving lots of publicity and commentary, including a thoughtful piece from Gloria Steinem, “It’s Not a Man’s World or a Woman’s Nation.”
One of the co-editors of the report, Heather Boushey, is a former AAUW fellow who often says, “AAUW’s support saved my life.” Boushey is a senior economist at the Center for American Progress and a well-known expert on women and the economy.
