Social media help connect AAUW members

icon_facebookWeb sites. Blogs. Facebook. Twitter. As a national organization, AAUW is committed to using social media outlets effectively. And so is AAUW Ohio.

Following AAUW’s lead, AAUW Ohio has created a Facebook page and a Twitter account to help connect members and others who are interested in advancing equity for women and girls in Ohio and beyond.

Join AAUW Ohio on Facebook and Twitter

  • Find AAUW Ohio on Facebook  by opening a Facebook account and searching for AAUW Ohio. If you already have a Facebook account, you can click here. Or click on the Facebook link in the right sidebar, which will take you directly to our page. Once on the AAUW Ohio Facebook page, choose to “Become a fan.” If you are concerned about privacy issues on Facebook, read this article from the New York Times: “Five easy steps to stay safe (and private!) on Facebook.”
  • Find AAUW Ohio on Twitter by opening a Twitter account and searching for AAUW Ohio. If you already have a Twitter account, you can click here. Or click on the Twitter link in the right sidebar, which will take you directly to our page. Once on the AAUW Ohio Twitter page, elect to “Follow” AAUW Ohio.

AAUW and social media

  • AAUW has created a Social Media Task Force to work with staff to examine social media opportunities for  members and assess ways they can be motivated and trained to use social media outlets effectively.
  • AAUW held a workshop called “AAUW Web Site Tools: What Every Leader Needs to Know,” at its June convention.
  • AAUW set up an online Tech Tool Kit.
  • AAUW National also has a Facebook page and a Twitter account. You can join either and/or add their RSS feeds to your Web site by going here. Either click on the appropriate link or copy the appropriate code.
  • Join the online conversation at the AAUW blog, AAUW Dialog.
